JEPS 11.1 - August 2026

We are pleased to announce the publication of Volume 11, Issue 1 of the Journal of European Periodical Studies (JEPS). Guest-edited by Anna Namestnikov and Gaëtan Regniers, this special issue, titled "Translation and the Periodical", brings periodical studies and translation studies into closer dialogue.

Emerging from the conference "Translation and the Periodical", held at Ghent University in September 2023, the issue examines periodicals as important sites of translation, circulation, and cultural mediation. Its contributions combine theoretical reflection with methodological and pedagogical approaches, exploring translated texts and images, the use of digital tools and databases, and the role of periodicals in translation teaching.

Guest editors Anna Namestnikov and Gaëtan Regniers were joined by contributors Evanghelia Stead, Şehnaz Tahir Gürçağlar, Daniele Monticelli, Maris Saagpakk, and Marina Popea to discuss their research and offer a behind-the-scenes look at the making of the issue.
