Call for Submissions: JEPS 12.2 Open Issue

The Journal of European Periodical Studies (JEPS) invites submissions for its Open Issue 12.2, to be published in Winter 2027.

JEPS is a biannual, peer-reviewed, diamond open-access journal published by Ghent University and the flagship journal of ESPRit, the European Society for Periodical Research. The journal publishes original research on magazines, newspapers, and other periodical forms from the seventeenth century to the present. As a diamond open-access publication, JEPS makes all its articles freely available to readers without charging publication fees to authors.

For its forthcoming Open Issue, JEPS welcomes contributions addressing any aspect of periodical culture. Submissions may draw on a wide range of critical, theoretical, and methodological approaches, including those associated with history, literary studies, art history, visual culture, gender studies, media studies, the history of science, and the digital humanities.

The editors particularly encourage contributions that consider periodicals within broader transnational, multilingual, cross-period, or interdisciplinary contexts. Articles may examine individual publications, contributors, editors, readers, networks, genres, formats, images, or modes of circulation, as well as the methodological questions raised by the study of periodical culture.
